The selection, construction, maintenance and restoration of exterior structures, particularly wood, is my current passion. I stop while walking my dog to speak with homeowners, asking them about their yards, especially if they have a strong, stable gate that isn’t sagging. I have a deep appreciation of what it take to build a gate that survives the elements and they years. I love to cultivate the garden you desire or restore order to yards grown wild, through mindful pruning and plant care, building structures as needed, resolving irrigation and yard lighting challenges and understanding your goals. My work supports my goals of becoming a contractor and learning the knowledge of the UC Master Gardener program.

I was brought up on DIY projects by a family of engineers and trade folk, and have raised my daughters in 6 different houses. I am familiar with building codes generally and particularly in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. A mentor is a licensed general contractor, as I seek to be in the near future. I have the tools, skills and knowledge to handle simple problems efficiently, to solve challenging situations creatively, and to address mid-sized projects affordably.
